Hello!

Hello! My name is Velina Ilieva and this is my first blog here on blogspot.

I'm from Bulgaria, born in the little town of Dobrich, but since 2002 I live in the city of Plovdiv. Right now I'm studying Computer Science in the University of Plovdiv,3rd year. Though I graduated a high school in which I studied history, philosophy and literature a lot,I choose  maths and the computer disciplines, because I'm keen on learning how to make programs, nice web sites and applications. :)

I started to make things with Photoshop when I was 7th grade . Since then I was reading on-line tutorials and learned different basics and techniques. At first my artworks were not so good as I wanted them to be, but as the time passed on , I improved my skills and decided to make photomanipulations and random stuff like avatars, signatures and desktop wallpapers. Recently I'm interested in making web layouts for different websites and application designs.

In my spare time I like to read books, watch anime, play video games and listen to nice and inspiring music : ).

Vili's 3D printing journal, entry 1 - Space cat project collaboration with Art Of Shade

Hello everyone! One year has passed since my last blog entry about my bizarre 3D printing adventures. During this time I took the opportunity to write in my notebook about the projects that I have been working on for the past year and now I decided to share them with you.  Life is getting busy and busy, but I am trying to steal a bit of time for myself and my favorite hobby - 3D printing! I hope that you will find it interesting to see what my workflow is, what problems I came across and how they were solved in the next series of blog posts that I am about to write. Without further ado let me introduce you to the first entry of my journal - a collaboration with my friend Kalina Stoicheva - Art of Shade  . Make sure to check out her artworks! They are absolutely stunning and she is getting better and better with every art piece! How it started I was browsing through her gallery and came across this really cool and cute character design of  kitties in space ships whic...

Pillars of Nosgoth side project

Hey,everyone! Finally found the time to update this blog :D. This time i started a side project a few months ago. It is a tribute to my all time favorite franchise Legacy of Kain! I have always wanted to do the pillars of Nosgoth. They are so amazing and mysterious! The Pillars are central for the story in all 5 games. You can read more about them here: http://legacyofkain.wikia.com/wiki/Pillars_of_Nosgoth And so i started my journey: First the low poly of the pillar and the base. Of course the platform gave me headaches and had to redo it a couple of times until i get the shape the right way. All of them together with the color map done. Even the platform looks okay now with the right shape. After i did  the models i turned to Unreal engine 4 and started assembling the scene. The terrain tool is very handy in the engine. I also did a bit of greyboxing, modeled some walls and archways but there was still something about the entire thing that...
