A big blog update

Hi guys! Sorry for my absence! I totally forgot that I actually have a blog :D.  All these things happening with university and finishing my bachelor thesis made me forget for my blog and moreover for art. I hope that  i will be more productive in the summer :). Recently I returned back to 3D with some experiments and can't wait to explore more of it.

Lets start with the showcasing, shall we? ;)

A little play with photo-retouching during a lesson in the uni :D.

I wanted to try something with blood, but it didn't turn out so well so I decided to stick with this concept :).

This is a book cover for a book with poems for a friend of mine. I'm also on my way making the illustrations for the poems. Not for each one of course, but still picking the ones which will inspire me :). The book is available on Amazon. You can purchase it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YQ6XVZ0

.... There're many people I can call
But I don’t, I'm just looking through the window.

It's so beautiful out there
So many lights, but through my tears
They are turning into blurry glare
Mixed with my pain and fears....

This is another illustration for the book with poems "One second".  This is for her poem "Lights through tears". It is so fun working with her and each illustration is a challenge for me to try new things and of course it is boosting my inspiration :)).

This one is just a landscape tutorial try :).You can find the tutorial here: http://psd.fanextra.com/tutorials/photo-effects/create-a-dark-landscape-matte-painting-with-photoshop/

Aand in the end a little 3D showcasing :). Program used: Autodesk Maya

And so my big blog update ends here :). I'm going to sleep now. Until next time! :)

Vili's 3D printing journal, entry 1 - Space cat project collaboration with Art Of Shade

Hello everyone! One year has passed since my last blog entry about my bizarre 3D printing adventures. During this time I took the opportunity to write in my notebook about the projects that I have been working on for the past year and now I decided to share them with you.  Life is getting busy and busy, but I am trying to steal a bit of time for myself and my favorite hobby - 3D printing! I hope that you will find it interesting to see what my workflow is, what problems I came across and how they were solved in the next series of blog posts that I am about to write. Without further ado let me introduce you to the first entry of my journal - a collaboration with my friend Kalina Stoicheva - Art of Shade  . Make sure to check out her artworks! They are absolutely stunning and she is getting better and better with every art piece! How it started I was browsing through her gallery and came across this really cool and cute character design of  kitties in space ships whic...

Vili's bizarre 3D printing adventures, part 2 -The Robo-cat

Hello, dear readers! Welcome to another episode of Vili's bizarre 3D printing adventures! Today I am going to tell you the story of one 3D printed Robo-cat!  It was the award of a challenge me and the other students accepted as part of the 3Ds Max course at CGZEN . Whoever creates the best looking cat will receive a 3D printed model of it. Strangely enough I was given the honor to print the kitty! The lucky winner was Stanislava Zahova and this is her Robo-cat: Robo-cat by Stanislava Zahova Isn't it just cute? :3 Model analysis We can divide the parts in two groups - with and without supports. The head, tail and legs clearly need to be supported, while the paws, neck, body, torso and back won't need any supports at all. In terms of resolution this model can use the faster settings since there aren't much details on it. The cat needed to be scaled just a little bit, not like the previous model we discussed here . The final size was around 12-13 cm high. ...
